About us
In March 2021, Nanuu started operations in the Bronx as a result of a prior vocational training program implemented by Fr. Ortega from 2011 to 2015 in Yonkers, NY.
Since launching, Nanuu has served approximately 300 women with vocational and social services. Many of our former participants come from rural areas in their countries and are marginalized due to their low socioeconomic status and lack of formal education.
100% are immigrants,
85% do not hold a High School diploma,
95% live in poverty and are not proficient in English.
